The CEO of Porter Health System, Jonathan S. Nalli, began the evening by thanking everyone for coming to the ribbon cutting for the new Porter Health System facility in Valparaiso. The Cumberland Physician Group is located in Cumberland Crossing just off Calumet Avenue, near the Valparaiso YMCA.
Nalli thanked Rex Richards and the Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce saying, “They are pro-growth and pro-development in Valparaiso.” Nalli also thanked the architect, Design Organization, the construction firm, Berglund Construction, and the Urschel family, the developers of Cumberland Crossing, for their vision for the north side of town.
Nalli said, “The new Physician Group is a great thing for people to get primary care options for a healthier and wealthier lifestyle.” Speaking about the doctors, Nalli noted, “These doctors are are successful, because of their work ethic, energy, and positive attitude.”
The doctors currently at the new location are Internal Medicine Physicians, Doctors. Perry, Sehgal, and Sikoski practicing preventative women's health medicine and internal medicine dealing in endocrine problems, such as diabetes, thyroid, hypertension, and cholesterol.
Dr. Perry said, “We have been partners for quite a while, and we are just thrilled to set out on our own to provide specialty medicine to Valparaiso.”
Dr. Sehgal added, “We specialize in adult medicine, and we are sometimes the first line of defense. We specialize in women’s preventative health, but we also treat endocrine problems, such a diabetes and thyroid.”
Dr. Sikoski talked about the new facility and said, “This is a very beautiful facility. Everyone has been working hard at what they do to get everything done. Our staff is like a big family, and it’s nice to be working with these two doctors; we are all friends.”
The Cumberland Physicians Group is just one of five new primary care facilities that have been opened in Valparaiso in the past couple of years. At the new facility, there is room to grow with room for up to five physicians. With the expansion, it will not only add more physicians available for care, but also add more specialty medicines that are available to patients.
Nalli said, “our goal is to have smiling and energetic people caring for the needs of people for a healthier and wealthier community.
Richards, noted, “This is a beautiful facility in a great location off Calumet. There are three new doctors that are new to the community. Having more professionals coming in to town is wonderful and it’s great to have a new tenant in Cumberland Crossing with the (Porter Health System) Cumberland Physicians Group.”
Chamber VP, Danielle Oeding, commented on Porter Health System being one of the Valpo Chamber's Platinum Partners, and added that Nalli is also on the Board of Directors. Regarding the event, Oeding said, “There is a nice mix of patients, people from the community, and doctors here this evening to help celebrate the grand opening.”
