Sweetville Joins Chamber, Plans Grand Opening

duneland-chamberSweetville, Chesterton’s new purveyor of sugar fixes, was welcomed to the Duneland Chamber of Commerce by the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee on June 4. A weekend-long grand opening celebration is planned for Sweetville this Saturday and Sunday, June 8 &9.

Sweetville, the new treat shop in Chesterton’s historic downtown shopping district, was welcomed to the Duneland Chamber of Commerce by the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee on Tuesday, June 4. Chamber Ambassadors Dan Bloomquist of Horizon Bank, Bob Capehart of ArcelorMittal and Kym Groceman of the Duneland Family YMCA joined Chamber staff members Maura Durham and Heather Ennis in welcoming Sweetville to the Chamber.

“This was a great opportunity to learn more about everything the shop offers,” says Groceman, Executive Director of the Duneland Family YMCA. “I’d heard about the amazing fudge, but the other products were just as impressive.” As a fudge factory, candy shop and bakery, Sweetville offers not only on-the-spot sweet shopping for all ages, but also customized creations for corporate events, birthday parties and other milestone occasions. The shop is located at 201 South Calumet Road, and is easy walking distance from Thomas Centennial Park in downtown Chesterton.

This weekend, Sweetville will be hosting a two-day Grand Opening celebration. Beginning at 8:00 am on both June 8 and 9, guests can enjoy lattes and cappuccinos, coffee and tea, fruit smoothies, breakfast pastries, coffee cakes and quiches - as well as the opportunity to win door prizes and a $100 gift card for Flower Cart. Children will enjoy a Jelly Belly coloring page contest, costumed character appearance and messy Bessies and brownies, while parents will delight in a large variety of nostalgia candy and home made fudge.
