New Classes!
Andrew Biancardi will kick off a new session of Cartooning on Wednesday, May 21 from 6:00-7:30. This 6-week class is perfect for beginning and intermediate artists. Andrew will discuss a variety of styles of cartooning with the techniques to accompany them. Also, MaryAnn Pals will be offering a 4-week Intermediate Pastel class on Wednesday, May 28 from 7-9 p.m. In class, she will be focusing on a variety of subjects such as trees, flowers, water and clouds. 11th Annual Frog Hunt
Saturday, May 31 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
The Duneland Exchange Club's 11th annual Frog Hunt will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at Sunset Hill Farm County Park, in conjunction with the Porter County Wildlife Management Advisory Board's Celebration of Wildlife. Saturday's Frog Hunt activities include a tadpole hunt for children age 5 and younger and a frog hunt for everyone. Find any of the 50 "pretend" frogs hidden along the park trails and share in cash prized valued from $10 to $500. The cost for adults 16 and older to participate in the frog hunt is $10. Porter Health Care System will present the Healthy Hustle 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 7 at Sunset Hill Farm County Park 775 Meridian Road Valparaiso. Proceeds from the event will benefit Lakeshore Paws. The entry fee for the 5K Run and noncompetitive 5K Walk is $20. Short sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to those registrations received on or before May 26. Race day registration is $25. 2nd Annual Wheelchair Ramp Golf Outing

The International Association of Fire Fighters Local 4600, Chesterton Firefighters, is hosting our 2nd annual golf outing at the Brassie Golf Club. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Wheelchair Ramp Project. At this time we are also seeking event sponsors! We have tree levels of sponsorship available. The Portage Athletic Department will once again team up with the Post-Tribune for the 2014-15 school year. The Post-Tribune will be contacting many local businesses to offer advertising in our athletic programs. These programs will be distributed free of charge to fans entering all of our Fall-Winter home contests at PHS. We will be handing out over 3,500 programs this year at over 140 home events.
