The Walsh Group Participates in Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters ICRA Awareness Training

ikorcc-logoRepresentatives from The Walsh Group, a premier nationwide coast-to-coast construction firm, participated in an Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters (IKORCC) 8-hour hands-on Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) construction safety awareness training.

The Construction ICRA: Best Practices in Healthcare Construction training focuses on minimizing patient risk during construction in an occupied healthcare facility. It provides detailed instructions for containing pathogens, controlling airflow, protecting patients and productively performing work without disrupting other operations.

“IKORCC carpenters are highly trained in the trade, and we are always striving to be the most efficient, productive and safe professionals in the industry,” said Dale Newlin, IKORCC Business Representative and Senior ICRA lead for the carpenters union. “We are beyond excited that Walsh Group participated in our ICRA training. Walsh Group and IKORCC are both focused on raising the bar on patient safety when working in healthcare facilities, so it’s great to know that they are actively utilizing our training programs.”

“The Walsh Group ‘sets the highest standards in ethics, quality and safety’ on all of our projects. We understand those expectations cannot be reached alone; partnerships, like ours with the IKORCC, allow us to achieve our goals,” said Tony Galullo, Healthcare Operations Manager at The Walsh Group. “Infection Control and uninterrupted operations in a healthcare facility during construction are of the utmost priorities on any healthcare project. Any one of our loved ones can be affected by our actions. The separation and the containment from the construction activities cannot be efficient and effective without proper education and the awareness of what’s at stake. The IKORCC ICRA training provides both assets and is exceptional. We improved our knowledge and comprehensive skill-set by attending the training session. The program’s structure and communication of vital information was very insightful and the takeaway is invaluable.”

ICRA Construction training takes place at three IKORCC training centers (Indianapolis, Ind., Louisville, Ky. and Richfield, Oh.), as well as other satellite facilities. For more information, please contact Dale Newlin at (219) 942-0518 or dnewlin@IKORCC.com.
