Bison-Financial-2014-2The folks at Bison Financial Group are working hard to not only expand their company, but to help out their community in the process. This Lafayette based company has branches in Valparaiso, Terre Haute, Mishawaka, Melbourne and looking to continue their expansion. The company aims to support the communities in which they reside. Senior Vice President, Paul Kuzemka, talked about the different organizations in Valparaiso that Bison has been supporting and why they love to contribute to their community.

Kuzemka has been in the financial service industry for over 22 years in the area and has been with Bison for two years now. Being a resident of Valparaiso, the community involvement was one of the things that attracted Kuzemka to Bison Financial Group.

Bison Financial Group takes pride in being a very active part of the community. They contribute to different organizations throughout the community. “Service is really important to the way Bison Financial Group operates. Our business motto is ‘Good will first, business second,’ and that goes back to our founding,” Kuzemka said.

“We are growing very rapidly, but a large part of that growth is just being very active in the community. We think it is very important to give back to the community and to be good corporate neighbors. That has just been a very integral part of how we do business,” explained Kuzemka.

Whether it be serving free hotdogs at the Outdoor Movie Nights, making breakfast for the bikers during the Valpo Night Ride, or ushering at the Memorial Opera House’s cabarets, Bison Financial Group is happy to contribute their talents and services to their beloved community.

“(When choosing a group to contribute to) It is just a matter of how we feel we can best utilize our resources to do good in the community. Anything that improves the quality of life for Valpo residents, we like to be involved in,” said Kuzemka. “It is important, to me, to be involved in the community and do business the right way because I live here.”

Some upcoming events for Bison Financial include serving lunch to the workers re-building ValPLAYso Park and sponsoring the Brewfest. When it comes to leaving a footprint in the community, Bison is at the forefront with their contributions. “Community involvement is in the DNA of Bison Financial Group,” stated Kuzemka.
