Dunes Birding: A Crash Course

Join Dunes State Park Interpreter, Brad Bumgardner, for a little introduction to all things birding. We'll cover everything from the history of ornithology, common dune birds, bird banding, leading bird walks, and more. The workshop takes place on January 31 at 2 p.m. in the Nature Center auditorium. Registration is required ($10 workshop fee) and can be made by calling the Nature Center at 219.926.1390.

Rebuilding Together Duneland
Donations Needed for April 25, 2015 Work Day

Rebuilding Together Duneland (RTD) is an affiliate of the nation's largest nonprofit volunteer organization, Rebuilding Together, which assists low-income homeowners by improving their quality of life through the rehabilitation of their homes. Since 1997, RTD has reinvested donations totaling over $1.17 million into helping 194 households and dozens of community projects across the Duneland area. Companies who sponsor a house can also provide volunteers for a team building experience on this year's annual work day, April 25. Material donations are also welcome.
