Bucher Tech Celebrates 15 Year Anniversary with Client Open House

Valparaiso-based technology solutions company, Buchertech, celebrated their 15-year anniversary pm Tuesday by inviting clients into their office space for an afternoon of personal connection and education. Clients received individual tours of the building and the opportunity to converse one-on-one with Buchertech technicians and employees. Several information sessions were hosted by vendors throughout the morning to educate clients on topics such as firewalls, servers, and data security.

President and Founder of Buchertech, Tim Bucher, was enthusiastically interacting with all of his clients and participating in the educational sessions. As a lifelong resident of Valparaiso, Bucher identified the need in the area back in 2001 for small business IT services. He realized that most small businesses don’t have the budget or tools available to them to employ their own full time IT technician and wanted to help solve this problem.

“Buchertech works to help the local small businesses operate efficiently and productively using IT product services,” Bucher explained. “Our mission is to allow a small business to operate at the level of a big company by providing them with the tools that are normally only accessible by the large companies. Our slogan is Plan IT, Deploy IT, Secure IT. We plan small business IT services to help prevent potential issues, we actually put these systems into place for clients, and then we secure the system protect their data. Just some of the services we provide include data backup and taking pictures of servers for disaster recovery. If a business loses it’s data, about fifty percent of them will go out of business within a year. That’s why it’s very important for us to protect that data for clients.”

Keith Thomason, Associate Systems Engineer at Buchertech, is one of the engineers who offers both phone and on site support to clients. Thomason works with clients to help troubleshoot their IT problems as quickly and efficiently as possible to help avoid having any IT issues negatively impact their productivity.

“Customers face a wide variety of problems ranging from small issues, such as a printer not working properly, all the way to entire systems going down,” Thomason stated. “We try to trouble shoot as many issues as quickly as possible from the office by remoting into their system but will go on site if necessary to resolve the issue at hand. Our main goal is to make running a small business as easy as possible for our clients. Everyone is going to have problems with their computer equipment at some point and we’re always here to help them out. We also work hard with our clients to identify and prevent any potential problems before they ever become an issue.”

Kathy Curtis, Service Administrator at Buchertech, oversees the service department and works with clients to help resolve their IT issues. Curtis works with the customers to identify the problems they are facing and then pairs them up with the technician best suited to quickly overcome the issue at hand.

“Aside from just technical problems, we’ll work with our clients to set up new email accounts, computer access for new employees, or removing access for past employees,” Curtis explained. “When clients do run across problems, it’s rewarding for me to help resolve their IT issues so that they can resume their business activities as quickly as possible. It’s always nice to work with a customer who is worried and then hear the sigh of relief after we help solve the problem!”
