Kristin is Keeping Hines Plumbing Spinning During the Day and YMCA Patrons Spinning by Night

Drop into Hines Plumbing on Horse Prairie Avenue and it will be readily apparent that the crew there are always busy, whether out on service calls, taking appointments or taking care of the day to day duties of running a business. At the nexus of all that is Kristin Andersen, office manager for Jack Hines.

If Hines is a Jack-of-all-trades, overseeing many aspects of his business and assuring that quality and customer satisfaction are being maintained, then surely Andersen is the Jill-of-all-trades for the company.

Andersen doesn’t have many tasks she doesn’t at least occasionally dip into, other than service calls themselves. She’s on the phones first thing in the morning at 7am and handles the daily paperwork, putting out service calls to staff, banking, scheduling appointments, checking in on customer satisfaction and even running materials from the supply house to the job site.

Looking at how much Hengstler handles in and out of the office during the average working day it’s hard to imagine she has energy to teach spin classes at the YMCA three days a week, but she’s motivated, a trait that doesn’t come in short supply at Hines Plumbing.

“They’re all pretty motivated, I just try to stay positive and keep them organized here, keep all the service calls organized, get them all the information as fast as I can, help them out if they need to deliver something. Anything,” said Andersen who brings her positivity with her whether at work or at the gym.

Her praise of their go get ‘em attitude didn’t end there: “These guys that I work with are all pretty much go-getters and Jack is definitely a go-getter. Anyone who’s met him knows that. Jack is one of the hardest working men I know – he’s always striving to be better,” Andersen said of her boss and fellow employees at Hines.

She teaches her spinning class three days a week, on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30pm and on Saturday at 8:30am.

“I’m the crazy one, that’s how I’ve been described,” Andersen laughed, “I’ve had people actually come up to me and say I heard about you, you’re the crazy one.”

Intense is another descriptor embraced by Hengstler, and whether it’s the work she does at Hines or at the Y, she is dedicated and motivated to keeping things moving for the employees and for the attendants of her high intensity class.

“If I can motivate people to be healthy that’s important to me. If I can motivate someone who wouldn’t necessarily want to work out to come in, that’s great. I’m all about staying healthy and active and I enjoy helping others on their journey of being healthy,” Andersen said of her own motivation behind the scenes. It is a passion for progress that she carries over into the work ethic of Hines Plumbing, a company that is always striving for more.
