Boys-and-Girls-Clubs-of-Greater-Northwest-Indiana-Names-Chief-Human-Resources-OfficerAs Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana became a new entity in January 2018, several key positions were included to help lead the newly merged organization with its vision of being recognized as the premier youth development organization in our regional communities.

Kris Condon was named as Chief Human Resources Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana bringing 10+ years of dynamic experience to her new position responsibilities. Condon, formerly Director of Human Resources for the Valparaiso, Indiana-based company, Family Express, fostered the philosophy of building relationships with every customer through service reliability of the chain’s direct service employees.

Condon began her career with Family Express in 2000 in store operations. In a short-time, she was promoted to Corporate Training Specialist, a role she held for five years before being named Director of Human Resources in 2006. Her creativity and attention to customer service assisted her in revolutionizing competitive training programs, programmatic hiring practices, and employee recognition incentives helping Family Express to lower turnover rates significantly. Her leadership earned her the prestigious 2016 Human Resources Leadership Award as well as receiving Top 50 Woman Senior Leadership Award within the Convenience Store Industry.

Now serving as Chief Human Resources Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana, she hopes to implement similar employee initiatives into the youth development realm. “Joining the team of Boys & Girls Clubs is a like a homecoming for me,” states Condon. Holding fond memories, Condon used to sneak into the Club with her brothers before girls were allowed and before becoming an official Club member. “What I remember most about my time at the Club is the people who directed activities and programming for all the kids who were there. They were an important part of my life helping to guide me and giving me new opportunities and experiences. As Chief Human Resources Officer, I want other children to have the same experience I did when I was at the Club and I want to ensure our professional staff have the opportunities for more training as they work daily with our communities’ most precious asset - our children.” Condon is building training programs, hiring practices, and employee recognition initiatives that weave Boys & Girls Clubs organizational values of teamwork, trust, opportunity, perseverance, and fun into the very fabric of our youth development professionals and their position responsibilities.

“This position will lead in shaping a strong youth development professional infrastructure to ensure our Club members are connecting with the best employees, people who want and can help build GREAT Futures of our kids. After an extensive search for the right person to lead our human resources practices and programs, I am proud to announce Kris Condon as our Chief Human Resources Officer. She is the right person making important decisions in the best interest of children,” states Ryan Smiley, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana.

Condon holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University and completed her Senior Professional of Human Resources Certification.
