Home Prices Continue To Improve In October 2014

rot2During the mild fall we had home prices continue to rise in Northwest Indiana, according to the latest real estate market data.

“It’s a seller’s market,” reports Jeanne Sommer, broker/owner of CENTURY 21 Alliance Group in Valparaiso, IN. The average sales price of single-family homes rose in both Lake and Porter Counties. In Lake County, the price rose from $138,049 in 2013 to $145,470 in 2014. In Porter County, the price in 2013 was $186,249 but rose in 2014 to $195,877.

In Porter County, the number of days a property was listed on the market went down from 2013 to 2014. The number increased in Lake County from 118 days in 2013 to 122 days this year.
