The holidays are in full swing at The Lakes of Valparaiso and to celebrate this time of year, the staff has decked the halls of The Lakes and planned a variety of events to get their residents into the spirit of the season.
“We do a lot of resident activities especially this time of year,” said Carrie Rowell, Leasing Agent with Weiss Entities. “We have a photo-op where residents are encouraged to come down and take pictures in front of our decorated tree here in the clubhouse.”
“Going on right now we also have a ‘Patio Decorating Contest,’” added Rowell, who’s encouraging residents to let their winter spirit shine! “The residents will decorate their patio area, take a photo and send it us, and then we’ll post the photo to Facebook. Whoever’s photo gets the most ‘likes’ will receive a $50 gift card.”
Wrapping presents is another job this time of year that The Lakes of Valparaiso is making easier for their residents.
“We are going to have a ‘gift wrapping station’ setup here,” Rowell said. “Residents can bring their gifts into the clubhouse and wrap them.”
For current residents of The Lakes, finding potential and future neighbors can save you a lot of money on next month’s rent. “We’re doing a ‘Winter Referral Bonus’ where if a resident refers someone who moves in they will receive $400 off of their rent,” said Rowell.
Rowell and the team at The Lakes of Valparaiso passed out BINGO cards to residents as well. Everyday they’ll be posting a letter/number to Facebook until one lucky resident gets a BINGO.
To help residents stay warm this holiday season, The Lakes will also have a ‘Hot Cocoa Bar’ set up in their clubhouse. “We’ll have the ‘Hot Cocoa Bar’ setup and there will be mints, candy and marshmallows for our residents to make hot cocoa any way that they like!” added Rowell.
