Timberseal: Bringing New Life to Worn Deck- Awesome Job

Once spring finally decided to roll around this year, it allowed me and my family to get outside and enjoy the weather, work outside a bit, and do some general maintenance on our house and yard. As I started to work outside, I looked around and realized something. My deck sure looked worse for the wear.

So, I checked around town, talked to some people on Facebook and Greg Rentschler at Timberseal was the right guy to bring that baby back to life.

Greg has been involved with us on our Facebook page for a while, so he and I had communicated before a bit about what Timberseal does and how they go about doing it, so I had already built up some trust with him and what he does

Before After talking for a bit, I had Greg and the crew from Timberseal come out and check out my deck to get an estimate on the damage. There was a lot to account for, seeing as I live on the windward side of a small lake around here, and the corrosive effects of living there, coupled with the general wear-and-tear that comes with the weather here in Northwest Indiana.

In talking with Greg, he was super knowledgeable and had a thorough plan for my deck, so I felt 100% assured that he would do what was necessary to get it back to looking like its original condition.

During The crew couldn't have been more professional and they did a great job explaining to me exactly what they were doing and why. Greg explained what they were doing in the picture to the right:

"At this point TimberSeal’s restorative cleaners have been applied to the deck to break down the accumulated weathered wood, dirt, debris, mold and mildew and in turn the cleaning agents allow us to wash the surface using a much lower water pressure. Once the cleaning agents have done their job the old dingy gray essentially just washes away to reveal the fresh new and clean appearance to the wood. Our wood brightener/conditioner is then applied to the now cleaned surface to remove stains and further brighten the wood."

"At this stage (below), repairs have been / are being finished and the stain work is underway with all finish being applied by hand. TimberSeal Pro-UV Cedar Semi is being applied to the floor, hand rail cap and lattice panels with a color matched solid acrylic stain being applied to the railing system and trim."

After Now, the deck looks great again and I owe it all to Greg and the rest of the crew at Timberseal! I couldn't be happier with the job they did. They are true professionals who know what they’re doing and how to bring the best out of your outdoor setup.

They do plenty more for your outdoor area like cleaning and resealing brick paver patios and walkways, or cleaning your siding and other areas outside your home, which you can always find pictures of on their Facebook page. So, if you’re looking to enhance the appearance of your home, be sure to contact them on their website, visit them on Facebook, or give Greg a call at 219-548-2670. You won’t regret it!
