Gregory Joins NWI SBDC as Business Advisor

Bill-Gregory-mugBill Gregory is the newest member of the business advisor team at the NWI Small Business Development Center.

Concentrating on Lake County, Gregory will assist region businesses with planning, growth and development. He will work to create connections with community leaders and economic development organizations to strengthen the area’s small business community.

“I believe I can impact the business community by continuing to ‘beat the drum’ loudly about the need for economic growth in the entire region and how that can happen by assisting small businesses get started, then helping them sustain themselves and grow,” Gregory said. “I think I can use my energy and resources to help people make the connections necessary to make that happen.”

Gregory has more than 30 years of business experience in a variety of management development and training roles. He most recently was executive director of the Center for Management Development at Indiana University Northwest. He is adjunct faculty at IUN and at Ivy Tech Community College.

He has been active on the economic and business development and education committees of the Gary Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the board of TradeWinds Rehabilitation Services and on the Ogden Dunes Town Council.

“Bill’s extensive background with a concentration in organizational development and diversity will help us further meet the needs of existing region businesses,” said LeAnn McCrum, regional director of the NWI SBDC. “His expertise and experience add to our efforts to encourage entrepreneurial development.”

Serving seven counties in the region, the NWI SBDC offers free assistance for entrepreneurs starting or expanding their businesses. Through one-on-one consulting, the NWI SBDC helps guide small businesses toward their goals by offering referrals, workshops, training opportunities and other essential business tools. It is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Small Business Administration, the State of Indiana and other local partners.
