It’s hard to quantify the positive impact she has made and will continue to make on patient outcomes around the world. Methodist is proud to have Michelle DeVries, our Chief Infection Control Officer, as an employee.

Kelly Woodbury - Safety Star of the Year
Kelly cared for a 35- week pregnant patient who was admitted and had an urgent Cesarean section. After surgery, Kelly observed that the patient had a change in her medical condition that was not the expected post-operative presentation. She immediately notified the attending physician, who transferred the patient to Neuro-ICU. After an emergency surgical consult, the patient was transferred to the University of Illinois at Chicago for further treatment. Kelly’s questioning attitude helped to avert a potentially life-threatening situation.
