March of Dimes Names Lisa Carpenter as Division Director for Northwest Indiana Region

Lisa-Carpenter-Division-Director-March-of-Dimes-NWI-RegionThe March of Dimes has tapped St. John resident, Lisa Carpenter, to lead the organization’s Northwest Indiana region. Carpenter joined the organization on January 1st. The nonprofit group works to reduce the rate of premature births and birth defects.

Prior to joining March of Dimes, Lisa served on Lake Area United Way’s development team as Senior Relationship Manager where she was committed to securing support from major Lake County corporations. She has also served on various roles throughout the region for community organizations such as Special Olympics, Get out Get Active and Humane Society of Calumet Area.

Brandi Anstine, local Chair of the Board of Directors, said “We are very excited to have Lisa join our team. Not only does she bring experience meeting and exceeding development goals, planning fundraising events, natural leadership skills to the job, she also has a sincere passion for the mission.” She adds, “We know she is going to be successful in bringing new energy to our organization.”

The Northwest Indiana March of Dimes organization covers all of Lake and Porter Counties. The major fundraising efforts include two opportunities to participate in regional March for Babies walks in the Spring. The Porter County event will take place on Sunday, May 1st at the Old Fairgrounds Park in Valparaiso and the Lake County event will take place on Sunday, May 15th at Highland High School. The organization also puts on a Signature Chefs Gala in the Fall. Sponsorship opportunities are available for all events.
