The general public is invited to attend a free Social Media Boot Camp seminar on Thursday, February 6. To be held from 9am – 10:30am at Riley's Railhouse (located at 123 4th St. in Chesterton), the seminar will be led by social media expert Chris Mahlmann, founder of Ideas in Motion Media (of ValpoLife.com and NWIndianaLife.com).

Following a complimentary brunch and informal networking, Mahlmann will share strategies to "to light the online fire" for your business or organization using a simple digital roadmap. Topics covered will include: understanding how to best use social media; and understanding the difference between Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ (as well as grasping which ones matter most to your business).

"Utilizing social media in your marketing program is an effective way to raise awareness of your business and get the community engaged with your organization, people, and mission," says Mahlmann. "We will give you some easy to understand tips on where to get started, and answer the most common questions about how to engage the fasting growing networks of communication to your customers."

This event is a component of the Duneland Chamber of Commerce's Sunrise Seminar series – a program designed to provide Chamber members and local residents with opportunities to live healthier, more productive personal and professional lives.
