If there is one part of the LIFE network we're known for - more than any other - it would be our massive photo library. We take thousands of photos at hundreds of events each year, from sports to shows to graduations and community gatherings, we took some great shots in 2015 - our best year for photos yet!

For many years we've covered the ever-popular Valparaiso Half Marathon, but we've never covered it so expertly in the past. This year our photographer set the bar from previous coverage by capturing the moments that aren't usually seen in race photos - the happiness. There are tons of examples of great emotion, pride, and smiles that were abundant that morning.
It's truly something else to go against the curve, to focus on the feeling instead of the physical, and that's why it's our top race gallery for ValpoLife this year.

The Popcorn Festival is a great ValpoLife tradition - we've been shooting the festival since our start six years ago. After six years of capturing the entire festival (races, parade, concerts, etc.) I feel as though our photographers really outdid themselves this year.
We had photos from the Steindler Signs bucket truck, feet on the ground capturing a different angle of the parade, and got some great images from the concert that evening. We'll continue to photograph Valpo's biggest event of the year, but it'll be hard to top 2015's.

Always proven to be one of the most fun galleries each year, the Valparaiso High School Grand March always delivers with some of the best photos of the kids that attend VHS. This year we captured creative poses, kids with props (like scooters), and fantastic outfits.
Each year that we cover the Grand March the photos get even more ridiculous, and look at 2015's gallery we can't wait to see what 2016 will deliver us.

Valparaiso University goes crazy for one thing each year - their Crusader Basketball team. In early 2015 they had reason to go more mad for their team then they have before, and that was all due to their 2015 Horizon League Championship trophy.
We were on the scene to soak up all that the game had to offer, and the gallery showcases how much fun the game was for not only the team, but also for Valpo's loyal fans.

There’s no better way to kick off spring than with a little exercise, and Ringing in Spring is there to do just that. Nearly 2,000 people participated in the 21st Annual Ringing in Spring on a beautiful Saturday morning at the Valparaiso Family YMCA.
The race attracts runners, walkers, and families to take part in their 5k/10k course that runs throughout the north side of Valpo.
VHS Brought the House Down With the 2015 April Antics Show

VHS' variety show is always a pleasure to watch. It's full of kids with incredible talent, and showcases what VHS has to offer. But, for the first year, the gallery matches the energy of April Antics.
With an improved set design which brought out multicolor backdrops that supplied the photographs with an extra pop of vibrancy, the images burst off the page. Because of that, April Antics supplied us with some of the most colorful photos of 2015.

This seems to be a trend for 2015 - but we keep getting better at capturing the events that have become LIFE traditions. The Little Black Dress fashion show that's done put on by many local Valpo businesses, has been covered by our photographers for the past three years, and it has featured many Lifers on stage.
For this year's show, we shot the Little Black Dress event in a new way - taking up a new angle and wonderfully showcasing the fun every model has on stage. With a great thread of warm pinks and oranges throughout the gallery, the photos are a pleasure to look at and enjoy.

Taltree Arboretums & Gardens is one of the most gorgeous places to visit in Valparaiso. Its acres of land supplies visitors with incredible views, trails, and experiences. Each year Taltree hosts their Picnic en Blanc, and the event expertly showcases all that Taltree has to offer their visitors. Picnic en Blanc is a party that's modeled off of a Parisian tradition of a all white picnic, and Taltree has used that idea to their advantage.
For the second year in a row the event has supplied us with some of our favorite party images. The gallery is filled with smiling faces to boot, but also allows the viewer to see the beauty of the party-goers surroundings. With it being an all white party, it's not short of color and iridescence.

We didn't forget about Cross Country. Each year the Duneland Athletic Conference meet brings together hundreds of kids from Porter and Lake County to compete at Valparaiso's Sunset Hill.
This year we captured some of the best images yet from a DAC meet - hundreds of them to be exact. It wasn't just actions shots that we conquered either, the posed shots are some great photos as well.
Chefs Around the Table

So many white aprons and chefs hats. Tens of them! That wasn't the entire point of this gallery, though, as there were a lot of great images of the men that filled out the aprons. The inaugural Chefs Around the Table event at the Porter County Expo Center brought together many different male figures in the community to part take in a cooking competition that helped raise money for Empower Porter County.
The pages of the gallery are filled with the smiling chefs and their taste testers, and it's a wonderful example of the good the Valparaiso community can do for the charity they care about.
