Immanuel Lutheran School Welcomes New Principal

Immanuel-Dr-Philip-FrustiOn August 24th the students of Immanuel Lutheran School began with a new principal. Dr. Philip Frusti greeted the children at the door with a warm smile and a firm hand shake. He was overheard saying that he was as nervous as they were.

As the new principal at Immanuel Lutheran school, Dr. Frusti is looking forward to building upon the great tradition of an excellent, Christ – centered K-8 educational program. He exclaims, “With our great community of teachers, staff, families, and church members, we will continue to strive for academic excellence while we emphasize the Christian faith and the development of virtue and character.

Dr. Philip Frusti received his doctorate in educational leadership from Concordia University, Chicago in 2002, his masters in K-12 administration from Michigan State University in 1993, and his undergraduate teaching degree from Concordia University, Ann Arbor in 1983. For the past nine years, he has served the Concordia University system in the United States as a full time and adjunct professor in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Houston. His primary role has been to prepare educators for a master-level degree in school leadership and certification for educational administration. He has also led master level cohorts for the National Louis University system in the area of curriculum and instruction.

In addition to educational leadership in higher education, Dr. Frusti has served several schools in the capacity of principal/interim principal, leading many during challenging economic times and through necessary changes and adaptations in order to provide better learning environments for students. He has taught every grade level from fifth grade to adult, specializing in math, English, social studies, and art. He has also coached soccer, basketball, and track at the middle school and high school grade level.

Along with educational pursuits, Dr. Frusti has been actively involved in overseas mission work. He has had the opportunity to visit over a dozen countries, providing leadership training in evangelism and outreach.

Dr. Frusti has been married to Cassandra Richardt Frusti for 27 years. They have four grown children (Gabriel 26, Charlotte 25, Samuel 23, and Josiah 19) and three grandchildren. Phil enjoys drawing and illustration, hiking, and fishing.
