Afternoon, evening discussion to reflect on views of Affordable Care Act
In honor of Constitution Day, an American federal observance, Indiana University Northwest will host a free afternoon and evening discussion on Tuesday, Sept. 17 focused on ‘The Post-Obama Constitution: Views on the Affordable Care Act.’ Both discussions will take place in the Bruce W. Bergland Auditorium, located in the Savannah Center.
The afternoon session will begin at 11:45 a.m. and will include the following discussions:
- Marie Eisenstein, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Political Science, will discuss ‘Obama Care: What the Supreme Court Said and Why’
- Jean Poulard, Ph.D., Professor of Political Science, will discuss ‘A Faculty View of the Constitutional Issues’
- Todd McNeeley, Fine Arts student, will discuss ‘A Student View of the Constitutional Issues’
The evening session, similar in topic, will begin at 7 p.m. and will include the following discussions:
- Susan Zinner, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Public and Environmental Affairs, will discuss ‘Obama Care: What the Supreme Court Said and Why’
- Samuel Flint, Ph.D., Associate Director and Associate Professor of Public and Environmental Affairs, will discuss ‘Indiana’s Losses if it Refuses to Expand Medicaid’
- State Representative Charlie Brown (D-Gary) will discuss ‘Health Care: A Right or a Privilege’
