Students and Teachers from Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson Middle Schools in Valparaiso took home the hardware at the IFLTA (Indiana Foreign Language Teacher's Association) annual conference this past weekend in Indianapolis. The annual "Creative Projects Contest" allows world language instructors to showcase projects that support language learning. Valparaiso Middle Schools earned the most awards of any district in the state.

Best of Show for Teacher Collaborative Project - Ben Franklin Mardi Gras/Karneval/Carnaval Whole School Event: Collaboratiing teachers: Kandel Baxter, Joanna Peszko, Bob Brooks and Sylvia Reyna
Individual Student Winners were:
1st Place Crafts - Sylvie Martin-Eberhardt, German Library
2nd Place Crafts - Anne Johnson, German Restaurant
1st Place Art Project - Morgan Johnson, Spanish Animal Drawing
1st Place Paper - Brianne Ngygen, Spain Brochure
2nd Place Paper Project- Valerie Massey, German ABC Book
