Valparaiso University to Host Science Olympiad Competition This Weekend

HarreValparaiso University will sponsor a Science Olympiad Invitational this Saturday, January 11, at the Union from 8 am to 4 pm. Science Olympiad is an academic competition that consists of 23 events in which teams of middle or high school students participate. Competition events are derived from the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

The Invitational at the university will be a competition for high school students, with about 500 local students in attendance. Featured events that day include Anatomy & Physiology, Entomology, Forensics, Rocks and Minerals, Technical Problem Solving, and many more.

Michelle Ham, former ISS astronaut trainer and flight controller for NASA will also present on her work with the organization and the Mission Discovery camp.
