IU Northwest Proud to Offer Courses at Portage University Center

Portage-University-CenterThanks to an innovative agreement between the City of Portage and Indiana University Northwest, students can take courses at the Portage University Center, located at 6260 Central Avenue in Portage.

The 31,500-square-foot building is modern and spacious, facilitating many freshman core courses and upper-level courses such as mathematics, sociology, public speaking, introduction to computing and Spanish.

Students have access to classrooms, computer labs, and study and lounge areas.

“The Portage location has had a tremendous impact as far as making an Indiana University degree accessible to more students,” said Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs David Malik. “For many IU Northwest students, who juggle a host of family and work obligations in addition to their academic lives, close proximity can be the difference between being able to attend college or not. We are proud to be able to extend IU Northwest’s mission beyond our immediate confines.”
