PNC Microsoft Excel 2013 Intermediate and Advanced Users Workshop

PNCThe Purdue University North Central Office of Graduate and Extended Learning and Department of Computer and Information Technology will offer a non-credit workshop series for intermediate and advanced users of Microsoft Office’s Excel 2013 software.

The course will meet on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., from Oct. 2 through Nov. 6. The registration fee is $159 and includes all books and materials. The registration fee for those who participated in the beginner class in June 2014 and still have the textbook is $129. Special rates are available for PNC students, alumni and employees. The deadline to register is Sept. 18 at 4 p.m.

This program will be taught by an instructor with 11 years of PNC teaching experience and 20 years of management experience in an office environment. Participants will be introduced to intermediate and advanced concepts and techniques for using the software in personal and business applications.

There will be a brief review of concepts taught in the beginner-level program before learning intermediate and advanced functions of the software. Instruction will include how to create data and pivot tables, as well as shared and merged workbooks, how to use various financial and logical functions, how to use advanced sorting features and how to use custom and advanced filters. In addition, class members will learn software functions such as Goal Seek, Solver, dashboards and Scenarios, how to track changes, add comments and import external data from Microsoft Access. There will also instruction on how to create defined names in formulas, how to create outlines and linked cells between more than one worksheet.
