IU Northwest Students to Address Social, Cultural Topics at December 2 Speech Forum

rot1Hear original speeches on social and cultural issues from Indiana University Northwest students at the upcoming Fall Speech Forum that will be held on campus Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Raintree Hall, room 102.

Each semester, IU Northwest students enrolled in public-speaking classes compete by delivering speeches on a wide variety of cultural and social issues. The student speakers are responsible for selecting their own topic based on personal interests. Speeches must be five to seven minutes in length or risk disqualification.

A panel of judges chosen from the university and the community score the speeches and the top three students receive plaques. A reception with refreshments will follow the presentations.

Raintree Hall is centrally located at Gary campus, accessible from the parking lot at 33rd Avenue and Broadway in Gary, one half-mile south of I-80/94.
