Saint Paul First Graders Carol at Rittenhouse Senior Living

Saint-Paul-First-Graders-Carol-at-Rittenhouse-Senior-LivingAs part of its ongoing commitment to community service, on Friday, December 5th, Saint Paul Catholic School’s first graders (along with their teacher Mrs. Debbi Czapla, and aide Mrs. Marcelle Azar) visited the Valparaiso Rittenhouse Senior Living to spread some Christmas cheer. Donned in their Rudolph hats, the children serenaded the residents with a blend of religious and secular holiday songs and poems.

The seniors enjoyed both listening and clapping along as the first graders sang songs such as There Was a Little Baby, Away in the Manger, and of course, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. The program ended with the children clapping, jumping, and twirling to We Wish You a Merry Christmas. After the program, the children served the residents Christmas cookies and punch. Smiles abounded between the residents and the children. Many of the seniors complimented the students’ on their caroling saying it brought “Holiday cheer to their hearts.” The children enjoyed being able provide some Christmas spirit!
