PNC “Prove It: Forming Evidence-Based Arguments” Seminar on March 19, 2015

PNC-homecoming-3Purdue University North Central’s Office of Graduate and Extended Learning, Department of English and Modern Languages and the PNC Writing Center will collaborate to offer a non-credit seminar open to high school and college students, as well as anyone wishing to quickly improve their writing.

The seminar, “Prove It: Forming Evidence-Based Arguments” will meet Thursday, March 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The registration fee, which includes all materials and a pizza dinner, is $25 per person. The registration deadline is March 12 by 4 p.m.

The program will be taught by Dr. Steven D. Vivian, published author and director of the PNC Writing Center. This hands-on session will include a lecture and plenty of discussion and practice. It will concentrate on academic argumentation that will teach participants how to write better argumentative essays. Special attention will be given to evaluating evidence.
