St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary held their annual Scholarship Award Ceremony on Monday, June 15. Scholarships were presented to 16 students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in healthcare.
“The Auxiliary believes in furthering the education of those seeking a career in the medical field,” said Teresa Pedroza, manager of Volunteer Services at St. Mary Medical Center. “These scholarships are an investment in the future of our hospital and the healthcare industry.”
The Auxiliary donated $25,000 to the scholarship fund, raised through proceeds from the hospital’s gift shop and Garden Café as well as through fundraising efforts. The remaining $11,000 was collected through donations.
