Holiday Programs at Northview Elementary School

The holiday season is in full swing at Northview Elementary School! Winter break is fast approaching but before it gets here, the school is celebrating with several events this week. Every morning through Thursday, the students are hosting “Music in the Foyer.” A few students perform Christmas and other festive holiday music next to the Christmas tree in the foyer as students enter the building to go to their classes. Students huddle around and enjoy the music of the season for a few moments before continuing on to class. Most of the performers play the piano or violin.

Another event is Wednesday, December 16. The 3rd grade class is having a Jewish traditions and customs hands-on presentation by Mrs. Tallman. The presentation will include making special foods, dreidel games, and explaining the traditions of the Hanukkah season. On Friday, the VHS Varsity Singers will perform a mini-concert for the students. They will be singing a variety of holiday tunes. Several of the singers are Northview alumnus, making this concert very special.

The Northview Student Council is also sponsoring a Pint-Size Hero Blood Donation Drive, run by the American Red Cross. Those who choose to donate blood during this season can register online at givelife.org or inquire at the school by calling 531-3100 about registering to participate in this event. Anyone at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental authorization) and in good health may donate blood.

Happy Holidays from everyone at Northview Elementary!
