Northview Elementary School State Champion Science Bowl Team

Recently, the Northview Elementary School Science Bowl Team won the title of state champion in division 4 of the 2010 Indiana Elementary Science Bowl competition for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW! Not only were the team members able to recall and apply significant scientific facts, but they also exhibited a level of cooperation and trust in their fellow team members that enabled them to successfully solve the challenging questions and activities that they confronted in the competition. The annual competition is designed for elementary school students in grades 4, 5 & 6 and is organized by the Indiana Academic Competitions; a program of the Indiana Association of School Principals. The 90 minute online contest includes a group answer round, an individual round, and an experiment round. The total score is determined by combining the scores from all three rounds. The questions and challenge activities for the competition are based upon the Indiana Department of Education Standards for Science, grades 5, 6, and 7.
