Purdue University Northwest received a $92,260 GenCyber Grant jointly from the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support two free cybersecurity camps for high school students this month at the Hammond Campus.
Designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by NSA and NSF, Purdue Northwest is using its grant to enable participating students to enhance their cyber awareness and engage in game design and customization.
Both scheduled camps, this week and next week (6/19-23), have attracted capacity registration of 100 students. The university’s College of Technology and Department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics are offering the camps.
Purdue Northwest Associate Professor of Computer Information Technology and Graphics Ge Jin and Assistant Professor of Computer Information Technology Manghui Tu are principal investigator and co-principal investigator of the grant, respectively, and the camp instructors.
