Purdue-Northwest-color

The Purdue University Northwest Sinai Forum will feature award-winning theoretical physicist and bestselling author Lawrence Krauss, at 4 p.m. CDT, Sunday, Oct. 15 in the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex on the PNW Westville Campus.

The complex is located at 1401 S. US 421. The doors open at 3 p.m.

The Forum presents guest speakers who explore the compelling issues of today, providing audience members a unique opportunity to hear from experts in their fields about topics in the news and to pose face-to-face questions in a town-hall style setting. Sinai Forum Executive Director Leslie Plesac hosts the series, now in its 64th season.

The Greatest Story Ever Told – So Far
Krauss will relate the dramatic story of the discovery of the hidden world of reality and how humans find their place within it. His presentation is named for his most recent book, “The Greatest Story Ever Told – So Far.” A book signing will follow the program.

Krauss blends research and storytelling to explore and to celebrate the greatest intellectual adventure ever undertaken – to understand why we are here in a universe where fact is stranger than fiction. As director of the Origins Project at Arizona State University and foundation professor in the ASU School of Earth and Space Exploration and the Physics Department, he has investigated questions ranging from the nature of exploding stars to issues of the origin of all mass in the universe. He works to educate the public about science, ensure sound public policy and defend science against attacks at all levels.

Award-winning research
Krauss has won international awards for his research and his efforts to improve the public understanding of science. He has authored more than 300 scientific publications and articles, is a commentator and essayist for “The New York Times” and “The New Yorker” and appears on radio, television, and film. He is the author of 10 books, including the New York Times bestsellers “The Physics of Star Trek” and “A Universe from Nothing.”
