The Valparaiso AAUW Affiliate held its annual Holiday Scholarship Benefit on Saturday, December 2nd. from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Walden Pavilion in Valparaiso. Members shared highlights of this past year while enjoying a variety of hors d’oeuvres and beverages including champagne and wine. Among those attending was Jenice Bell, a two-time scholarship recipient, who has returned to the area after completing a degree in Veterinary Science.
Dr. Bell shared her experiences working with many kinds of land and marine animals. Ticket sales for the Holiday Benefit will benefit the AAUW Foundation Fund that provides scholarships for women living in Porter County. AAUW is a national organization whose mission advances equity for women through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. The Valparaiso affiliate has awarded scholarships since 2000
