Scott Tuft Appointed to Indiana Dunes Tourism Board of Directors

Indiana-Dunes-Tourism-LogoScott Tuft, of Valparaiso, has been appointed to the Indiana Dunes Tourism Board of Directors, Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas announced today.

Tuft, a 20-year Porter County resident, is director of sales and marketing for Accucraft Imaging in Hammond and is an associate at Bass Pro Shops in Portage. He is also an active community volunteer through the Valparaiso Rotary Club and the Valparaiso Boys & Girls Club, and he has served as a volunteer coach for basketball, soccer and baseball.

We’re pleased to have Scott serving our community in promoting tourism and bringing people together to enjoy Porter County,” Costas said.

Lorelei Weimer, Indiana Dunes Tourism executive director, said the board of directors and tourism staff look forward to working with Tuft.

This is an exciting time for tourism in Porter County because of our new branding, new website and the strides we have made in being a catalyst to new tourism development projects,” Weimer said.

Scott’s background in marketing, sales and retail will be beneficial to our overall marketing efforts.”

Tuft will begin his two-year term on January 1. The nine-member Tourism Board helps to promote local tourism, which contributes more than $300 million to the local economy each year. Board members are appointed by the Porter County Commissioners, Porter County Council, Valparaiso and Portage mayors, and the towns of Burns Harbor, Chesterton, Porter, Hebron and Kouts.

Tuft attended Purdue University Calumet and lives in Valparaiso with his wife, Roberta, and his son, Nathan.
