Run to Raise Money for Seriously Ill 5 Year Old

Run-4-Rusty-5kRun 4 Rusty 5k will be held at Chesterton's very own Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve Pavilion on Sunday, June 10, 2012. What is the goal of the Run 4 Rusty 5k? Indiana University sophomores, Kara Fasone and Cary Johnson, envisioned this fun run as a great community event which will benefit an even greater cause.

Mr. Adam Schultz, a phenomenal Chesterton High School teacher, is also the father of a lively 5 year old boy named Rusty. Rusty was recently diagnosed with a serious brain tumor, specifically known as pineoblastoma. All proceeds of the Run 4 Rusty 5k will go to the Schultz family for medical bills, travel costs, and other necessary expenses.

Fasone and Johnson would like to prove that even though Chesterton has the reputation of being a "small town", it sure does have a huge sense of community.

Adult tickets ($15) and children's tickets ($12 for 12 and under) can be purchased online at thtiming.com or through Chesterton High School. Walk in registration will be available, but at an increase of $5. Pre-race registration kicks off at 8:30 am and the race begins at 9:30 am. The race will be officially timed by TH Timing and the course is set to take place along the scenic Coffee Creek Trails.

The post-race party will include complementary refreshments as well as music by Rolling Sounds DJ Service. Do not forget to bring along some extra cash to enter the post-race raffle for tons of cool prizes!

If running is absolutely out of the question, individuals may walk into any Chase bank and place a donation into the Run 4Rusty Charitable Trust Fund.
