Liberty Bible Church Presents “Shepherding Our Parents”

Shepherding-Our-ParentsWhat does that mean? At some time, it is very likely that our parents will start needing help from us as the aging process takes its toll. There are many choices to be made and changes to go through that require information that is unique to that time of life. Having information and starting a dialogue with our parents before crisis situations develop can help us enjoy much better relationships. We plan to bring in experts that can help inform us about issues that we will face with our parents. The information that will be given could be very helpful to the parents as well, or to any caregiver. There are times when a little help goes a long way in making a difference in the well-being and safety of an older adult.

On October 18 at 6:30 P.M. in room 130 we will be discussing MEDICARE. What is it? Who qualifies? How much does it cost? How old do you have to be? Do I want it? What supplemental plans are the best for me?

These questions will be answered and many more besides at our next Shepherding Our Parents meeting. Our speaker, Jean Prebis, is a SHIP counselor, trained to help us understand Medicare and the supplemental programs and how they work. She will help us figure out what plans may be best for each individual’s situation. If you are close to retirement or need to advise a parent about medicare, please come and hear an expert with answers you will need to know

If you need more information or have any questions, please call Jane Lahne at 219-464-3606.
