Help the Tot Shop Collect a Year’s Supply of Diapers

Hyper-Diaper-Drive-2014The Family & Youth Services Bureau announces the “Hyper Diaper Drive” a community effort to collect 311 boxes or packages of diapers from April 3rd through 11th, 2014.

Diapers collected during this drive will then be available for distribution at the FYSB Tot Shop, a program designed to educate and help young parents in need. FYSB is looking for groups and organizations to participate in the Hyper Diaper Drive by collecting diapers within their membership and in turn helping out the more than 2,000 people who utilize The Tot Shop each year.

The Tot Shop is an incentive-based program where young parents can shop for needed baby and toddler supplies. However, the items are not given away and they can’t be purchased with money.

Parents must EARN coupons by going to doctor visits, checkups for their kids, getting immunizations, attending parenting classes and nutrition workshops—doing things that educate them to be better parents. Then they receive coupons after attending these activities, and exchange their coupons for needed supplies like diapers, clothing, beds, and books.

If your office, neighborhood, group or organization would like to participate in the “Hyper Diaper Drive” please contact Jackie Gray at 219-464-9585 or jgray@fysb.org, or access the website at www.fysb.org.
