Northshore Health Centers Hosts their 1st Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Easter festivities are always fun and today the 1st Annual Northshore Health Centers Easter Egg Hunt was no exception! Children of all ages were invited to come out to the hunt and enjoy all the activities that Northshore had going on.

The Northshore Outreach/Inreach Staff, along with other members of the clinic, came out to help with all the activities at the Lake Station location. They threw a little twist into the traditional egg hunt by having the kids hunt for Bunny Paws. Collecting the Bunny Paws led them into an area where they were able to visit the Easter Bunny himself! They turned in the paws they had collected for assorted toys and candy that were used to fill up their Easter Baskets. They allowed groups in as families so they weren’t separated into age groups and allowed for strollers and those with disabilities.

All the children were also invited to play in various games such as Bozo Buckets, a ring toss and bean bag toss.

“Being the first time for us having the Easter Egg celebration, none of us really knew how many people were going to come out and join us or what to expect.” stated Outreach Director Gervay Dickerson. “We are also holding a celebration at our Portage location as well. The whole idea was to for it to be free and fun.”

It was clear by all the entire buzz going on that all the kids were enjoying the different activities.

Nancy Hunt explained, “We were promoting the event in the office throughout the week, reminding parents to bring their children to Northshore for the Easter Egg Hunt. We are trying to get parents to bring in their kids so that we can sign them up and make sure that they are getting the care available to them.” By the looks of the crowd they reached their goal!

>Everyone who came and signed in was given a raffle ticket for the chance to go home with a new bike. There were two bikes at each location being given away. There was also a “golden egg” that a lucky hunter would open and be the lucky winner of $100.00.

Tim Jackson said, “I’m glad we had good weather while we wait our turn and the kids are excited to see Mr. Rabbit.”

Northshore has several locations with the most recent opening in Hammond. There is also a dental clinic within the group.
