Local Dog Rescue to Host Chili Cook-Off

giant-paw-prints-rescueGiant Paw Prints Rescue of Valparaiso, Indiana, will host a chili cook-off on January 25th, 2015, in order to raise money for medical treatments of current fosters.

Giant Paw Prints Rescue (GPPR) will host the cook-off on Sunday, January 25th, at Semento’s Napoli Café, 1200 West Street, Valparaiso, Indiana. The event will begin at 1pm and is open to everyone over the age of 21. The cost to enter your homemade chili is $20 and the cost to judge is $5. There are prizes for the winners.

The Chili Cook-Off fundraiser is specifically geared towards raising funds for medical expenses of two current fosters, Diesel, a Mastiff, and Marmaduke, a Great Dane. GPPR has had to address various medical needs for both dogs since their rescue, including surgery and heartworm treatment.

Giant Paw Prints Rescue is an all-volunteer-based 501(c)3 Non-Profit Charitable Foundation founded in 2012. The goal of the organization is to rescue and re-home shelter and otherwise unwanted dogs. While they specialize in large breeds, they are an all-breed rescue. Dogs that have been rescued by GPPR are vetted and fostered until a forever family is found. In 2014, the organization rescued over 110 dogs from multiple states.
