Lakeshore PAWS Newsletter, February 2018

Lakeshore-PAWS-Newsletter-February-2018_01I am so happy to report that we had our best year ever!

We adopted out 797 dogs in 2017. This brings the grand total to 3,257 lives saved since we opened in April 2011.

Thanks to all of our volunteers, who make this possible. We would not have been able to do this without their hard work and dedication. So many of you put in countless hours walking dogs, cleaning, doing laundry, running our events and working at the front desk.

I also want to give special thanks to our donors. Our adoption fees cover only about half or our costs. As a private rescue, we count on donations to cover the balance of our needs. All donors have helped us save so many lives and we thank you.

We have some exciting news to start off the new year. We have an official vet room where we can examine and treat our dogs. We have also hired vet tech, Brandi Lakomek who assists Dr. Lisa Booth and provides continued care to our dogs.

These additions allow us to treat heartworm positive dogs on site, which saves us money. This enables us to save more of these dogs, who are usually the last to be pulled from the shelters since treatment is so expensive.

Please get involved and help us save more lives in 2018. Together we can accomplish so much more!

Not only do the dogs need attention, but we can always use help with events, fundraisers, and fostering. If you are interested, please fill out the application online and/or feel free to email me or the office today!

Making a one-time donation to Lakeshore PAWS is a great way to help us save the lives of more dogs. But setting up a recurring monthly donation helps out even more because we can grow our rescue efforts based on the anticipated funding. The following link will allow you to set up a recurring donation through PayPal with the funds drawn out of the account of your choice. Thanks from us and the dogs for considering making a recurring donation. Donate here.
