The Lake County Public Library Board of Trustees has appointed Ana Grandfield as Director for the library district effective January 1, 2012. Mrs. Grandfield has served as the Assistant Director for the Lake County Public Library since 2000 and has worked very closely with the former Director, Larry Acheff, on several major projects such as the construction of three new library branch buildings and four library building renovations. She is currently overseeing the major remodeling project of the Central Library in Merrillville.
Ana received her M.S. from the University of Illinois’ Graduate School of Library Science and Information Science and in her twenty five-year long library career she has served in areas of Periodicals, Reference, Genealogy, and Local History.
