Letters of Interest for an Ethics Commission Member

Valparaiso-Vibrant-VisionaryThe City of Valparaiso Ethics Commission is currently seeking letters of interest for an at-large member. The mission of the City of Valparaiso Ethics Commission is to uphold the highest standards of integrity in city government. We envision Valparaiso as a community that is respected for fostering ethics in government.

Requirements
Must be a resident of the City of Valparaiso.
Must not be a public official or an employee of Valparaiso University, Porter Hospital, the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, or Pratt Industries.
Must be willing to serve an initial term of two years with a maximum of three consecutive terms.
Members receive no financial compensation for their service.

Objectives
Develop and enact an on-going ethics education program.
Act as a resource to provide advisory opinions and interpret rules and regulations.
Respond to complaints, investigate, and make recommendations.
Review periodically the Ethics Ordinance and polices.

Applicants should be of good character who can affirm the Mission, Vision, and Values of the City of Valparaiso Ethics Commission.
