Care Counseling Services Receives Grant

Care-Counseling-Services-Receives-GrantCare Counseling Services is a recipient of a total of $15, 063.52 in grant funds from the Porter County Substance Abuse Council for counseling and prevention programs. Care Counseling Services is a member of the coalition and is located at 793-2 Juniper Road in Valparaiso.

The Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program received $5,063.52 for 12-weeks of individual or group counseling, assessment and discharge for up to 30 indigent clients. The Relapse Prevention program has received $10,000 to present information to clients that need to understand chemical dependency and develop coping skills for a drug free lifestyle.

Care Counseling has been providing addiction treatment since 1994 and works closely with local courts, probation officers and drug and alcohol programs such as PCADOS.

The Porter County Substance Abuse Council awards grants to its coalition members through a competitive application and review process. The Council has awarded almost $1.5 million in the last ten years to programs throughout the county that work to reduce substance abuse.
