Solarize Valparaiso Extends Contract Deadline to July 31, 2015

rot7A partnership among the Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Council, the City of Valparaiso, the Porter County Career and Tech Center, and Ivy Tech has resulted in the following exciting cost savings for residents interested in alternative energy generation:

Due to the extension of the NIPSCO Feed-In Tariff program for solar systems between 5 and 10 kiloWatts in capacity, Solarize Valpo has extended their deadline for contract commitments to July 31st.

If you haven’t yet signed up for your free no-obligation solar assessment, now is the time! You still have a whole month to decide. So far we have 80 + signup for assessments region wide, 23 of these are in Valparaiso.

Valpo proposals to date total 139 kW of electric capacity. If all of those commit to a contract, the City will receive a free 3 kW solar array, with a data monitor and display tablet! Proposals throughout the region are up to 600 kW, with our first signed contracting coming from a LaPorte business.

We need at least one more contract in to start dropping the costs for everyone. “ If you missed the Solarize Valpo community workshop, the Solarize team will be presenting on the program on the evening of July 13th at the Porter County League of Women Voters meeting located at the Valparaiso University Neils Science Center.
