Flanagin Therapy Suites Open at Dayspring Counseling Center

Flanagin_Therapy_Suites_Open_at_Daysprin-1In the summer of 2015, Donna Flanagin, Monica Decker, and Erica George hosted a garage sale that raised over $4500 for Dayspring Counseling Center, a program dedicated to providing community mental health to individuals, families, and couples in need in Porter County. "We work with individuals on a sliding scale fee system with our average fee being between $10-15 dollars," stated Dr. Rachel Niemi, Dayspring's Executive Director. "One of our goals this year was to create a fund to provide counseling for those currently experiencing homelessness."

The money raised thanks to this amazing group of women will go to helping the homeless receive over 400 hours of important mental health treatment where they live at no charge. Dayspring partners with many local shelters such as Gabriel's Horn and Housing Opportunities along with it's partner program Dayspring Women's Center to provide services to the clients at each shelter location. It hopes to expand its free counseling program to help other residents in Porter County that are struggling with homelessness.
