Three New Officers Sworn to Duty at Valparaiso Police Department

Three-new-officers-valpo-police-department-2018Three new Valparaiso Police Officers were sworn to duty in a ceremony on Friday morning at City Hall. The three new officers, Jeffrey Kopil, Caleb Hall and William Smith were all sworn to duty by Mayor Costas. Numerous officers, family members and friends were present during the ceremony.

William Smith 29 yrs old, is a Purdue graduate with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree and a graduate of Northwestern High School. He had been working in sales.

Caleb Hall 25 yrs old, is a Valparaiso University graduate with a Bachelors in Sociology with a concentration in criminology. He is a graduate of Valparaiso High School and previously worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County.

Jeffrey Kopil 24 yrs old, is a graduate of Andrean High School and currently enrolled at Purdue Northwest.

All three begin their training immediately. Congratulations to Officer Smith, Officer Hall and Officer Kopil.
