The city of Valparaiso launched a poster contest to encourage recycling. The two winners were Ollie Grcich (fourth grade at Central Elementary)
and Allison Skadberg (fifth grade at Northview Elementary). Each winning design will be featured on one of the city's two recycling trucks. The winners were recognized by Mayor Jon Costas and Public Works Director Ron DeTorrice at school on Friday on a beautiful sunny Friday, in front of their peers.
The effort highlights the city's extraordinary recycling efforts -- more than any other Indiana community! The plan is to make the poster contest an annual event, adding designs to other panels on the trucks.
