Operating Hours Extended Beginning Oct. 4 for the RedHawk Shuttle Servicing the IU Northwest Park and Ride Lot

Shuttle to run Monday through Thursday until 7:30 p.m. iunlogo

Effective Monday, Oct. 4, the operating hours for the RedHawk Shuttle will be expanded; rides from campus to the IU Northwest Park and Ride lot will continue until 7:30 p.m. The off-campus lot is located at Grant Street and 37th Avenue in the Village Shopping Center.

The RedHawk Shuttle will run 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, during the fall and spring semesters when classes are in session.

The final shuttle of the day will depart at approximately 7:20 p.m. from the Moraine Student Center and 7:23 p.m. from the south entrance of the Library Conference Center on 35th Avenue. The final shuttle will arrive at the Park & Ride lot around 7:30 p.m. Patrons should note that, after 6 p.m., only one shuttle will be in operation, so wait times may be slightly longer than those during the day.

Due to an increase in student enrollment, IU Northwest expanded its parking facilities in August 2010 to accommodate additional student traffic. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use the IU Northwest Park and Ride lot located at the university’s new “Arts on Grant” location.

Individuals using the Park and Ride lot can ride the free RedHawk Shuttle bus to and from campus. Shuttle departures and arrivals will occur every 10 to 14 minutes with two campus stops: the Moraine Student Center, located just south of the main campus parking lot, adjacent to the Savannah Center, and the south entrance of the Library Conference Center, located on 35th Avenue. Signage indicates the designated drop-off points.

All riders are required to present a university ID to board the shuttle. There is on-site security at the Park and Ride lot during its hours of operation, and the campus police department patrols the lot as part of its regular rounds.
