The Valpo Parks Foundation will honor two individuals who have assisted the Valpo Parks system in countless ways. Thursday, May 8 will mark the sixth year for the Art & Irene Malasto Legends Award along with the Legendary Friend recognition. “Celebrating Friends & Legends” is the annual gathering held in May and hosted by the Endowment Committee of the Valpo Parks Foundation. This year’s honorees are Bruce Berner for the Malasto Legends Award, and Mary Kramer Leonard for the Legendary Friend Award. The casual reception is from 4:30-6:30 PM in the Butterfield Pavilion at Old Fairgrounds Park in Valparaiso. This recognition of service event includes hors d' oeuvres and a cash bar.
