Even More October Events at Porter’s Hawthorne Park

Town-of-PorterIf you thought Porter’s Perfect Pint was the only event happening at Hawthorne Park this October, have we got news for you! Three more events will be taking place over the next two weeks for the area’s goblins, ghouls, and amateur artists.

If you missed the first Coffee & Canvas back in August, than mark your calendar for Sunday, October 19th when the popular program comes back to the Community Center at Hawthorne Park. Grab a group of friends and join us for this fun guided class targeted at all skill levels. Enjoy gourmet coffee and snacks as you work through the “colors of the fall” themed project. The class runs from 2:00pm-5:00pm, and there is a $25 participation fee. To register please call Becky at 219-734-0203. Coffee and Canvas is a Porter County Parks and Recreation “Parks on the Go!” program taking place at the Town of Porter Community Center at Hawthorne Park.

The very popular annual Boo Bash Halloween Event returns to Hawthorne Park on Sunday, October 26th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. This family-friendly event features crafts, games, prizes, a donut decorating table, and a costume contest. Costume contest prizes will be awarded to the top three costumes in the following divisions: group costume, ages 0-3, ages 4-6, ages 7-9, and ages 10-13. Costume contest will be judged at 2:00pm. Boo Bash is a free community event brought to you by the Town of Porter Park Department.

The regular last Wednesday of the month Acrylic Painting class will take place on October 29th from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Community Center in Hawthorne Park. The $10 fee for this popular class includes a painting surface, all supplies, and two hours of guided instruction. To register please call Becky at 219-734-0203.
