Valparaiso’s Northview Elementary School was named winner of the Mayor’s Cup Challenge for 2014, earning the spot by having the highest participation in the Monster Dash Family Fun Run in October. As the winner, Northview keeps the coveted Mayor’s Cup for the year, along with a $500 check for wellness activities through the Mayor’s Fit City initiative. The funds will support Northview’s annual Healthy Kids program, which promotes fitness and healthy eating, led by School Nurse Julie Stahl.
